Creep testing laboratory

With these creep test devices, the laboratory has a multi-purpose equipment to study the delayed behavior of materials, in particular concrete. This laboratory includes several devices that enable the analysis of the time dependent stresses or strains from material scale to full structural scale. These equipments include :

  • about fifteen devices for compression tests (capacity of 40 t to 80 t) used to test cylindrical samples (16 cm in diameter and 1 m in length) ;
  • two devices for bending induced creep ;
  • one device for tension induced creep ;
  • five devices for relaxation.

Besides being used in research programs, these equipments are frequently considered for expert evaluations both in industrial partnerships and contractual matters.
