Ageing facilities

To study the durability of concrete (reinforced or not), the EMGCU laboratory has multiple equipments used for the ageing of specimens.

  • Equipments dedicated to research about Internal Swelling Reactions:

Heat treatment device for large scale specimens

Laboratory for climatic ageing (80 m2) where temperature (up to 40°C) and humidity can be regulated. This laboratory is equipped with an overhead crane that allows ageing of structural concrete members.

Two laboratories (total surface: 150 m2) with temperature and humidity regulated at 20°C and 50 % respectively

Two climatic chambers of 10 m² each, with temperature and humidity regulated at 38°C and 30 % respectively

Two reactors regulated at 38°C and 60°C

    Multiple ovens

Specific devices for automated and continuous dimension and mass monitoring

        • Equipments dedicated to research about reinforcement corrosion:

Two laboratories with temperature and humidity regulated at 20 °C and 50 % respectively.

        • Field exposure site (300 m²)
