Durability of masonry structures

The laboratory has interests in a wide range of research topics within the masonry structure fields, with a focus on performance and durability of civil engineering structures. Analytical and numerical tools are developed to model masonry structures in 2D or 3D, under static or dynamic loads. These models are confronted to experimental campaigns – reduced scale and full scale – before validation. Ultimately, these tools aim at providing guidance in the structural analysis of existing masonry structures – retaining walls, vault bridges, tunnels, dams – understanding the causes and outcomes of pathologies and designing repair solutions.
